Why take the bus?
Drop any idea of a rattly old charabanc, we're talking about the latest in luxury coaches here, complete with on-board Wi-Fi, guaranteed seats, and all the legroom you could wish for. Yes, you could take the train, but only if you want to go all the way to London Paddington, then jump on a crowded tube train to Victoria and wait for the Gatwick Express (which is usually packed).
How about by car? Again, that's fine, as long as you don't mind negotiating the traffic on the M25 and then trying to find a (pricey) parking space at the airport. How about a taxi? Well, yes, you do have the convenience of a door-to-door trip, but it'll cost you as much as £160. Yikes!
So the most obvious answer is the Oxford to Gatwick Airport bus. At a fraction of the cost of a taxi, it's by far the cheapest way to travel. You're guaranteed a seat, the bus drops you right outside the Terminals at Gatwick Airport, and there's no need to go all the way into London and struggle through rush hour tube rides. Just sit back, relax, plug into the Wi-Fi and chill out while your driver speeds you towards the airport in plenty of time to catch your flight.
